We’re very pleased by the excellent website developed for us by NB Communication, which allows us to showcase all of what we do at Frankie’s and the fish and chip trade in general to a global audience.
Frankie’s Fish & Chips in Brae opened in September 2008 and is now officially the No.1 fish and chip shop in the UK. This hugely successful business offers the best of sustainable Shetland seafood to local customers and visitors from around the world.
NB Communication was invited in late 2013 to develop a new website for Frankie’s which allows visitors on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and mobile phones to have an equally positive experience.
The new site presents eye-catching photographs, text and video, as well as useful information such as takeaway and café menus, and a live Twitter feed.
The fresh, clean look of the website, with its easily navigable pages listed on the left, a central pillar with carousel of photographs and page content on the right, has received a great deal of positive feedback from a wide range of Frankie’s stakeholders.
Staff and contractors are delighted with the website’s user-friendly nature, which allows them to update the content and add news stories in just a few easy to understand steps.
The Frankie’s site has an average of 2,000 sessions per month, a figure that rose to 4,260 during the week of the National Fish & Chip Awards, in which Frankie’s was named Best Independent Takeaway Fish & Chip Shop in the UK and secured the Good Catch Award.
Visitor numbers to the site have grown by 37 per cent since it was launched and in the same timeframe the average time spent on the site by each visitor has increased by 41 per cent.
Frankie’s owner Valerie Johnson said: “We’re very pleased by the excellent website developed for us by NB Communication, which allows us to showcase all of what we do at Frankie’s and the fish and chip trade in general to a global audience.”
