Project Overview

Rubicon Drinks is part of Scottish drinks producer A.G. Barr's high-profile range and NB Communication designed a fresh-looking website to reflect the bold and adventurous brand identity. The site's functionality allows users to discover more about the range, and take valuable actions including signing up to the mailing list or social media accounts. The website is e-commerce-ready, offering the opportunity to sell merchandise and limited edition products. It is also set up so competitions can be easily hosted and valuable first party data collected.

Background

Rubicon Drinks is one of the high-profile brands owned by Scottish drinks producer A.G. Barr but had never had its own website. NB designed and built the high-performing site as part of a digital overhaul. As well as looking great and providing information about the Rubicon range, it was important for the site to be user-friendly, and for site visitors to be encouraged to sign up to social media accounts and email newsletters.

Challenge

Launching a distinct website for Rubicon Drinks for the first time, it was crucial to present the brand effectively and optimise all aspects of site content to maximise visibility. Brand owner A.G. Barr wanted all its websites to be hosted on the same platform making them easier to edit and reducing developer input and time to improve efficiency. It was important that the site was easy to administer and can be used for ecommerce, and to collect first party data.

Solution

A custom designed homepage uses the distinctive Rubicon branding, applied to the chosen Shopify theme, while creative layouts are used on some internal pages to help convey the branding and core messaging. To simplify maintenance of A.G Barr's multiple websites, the same theme is used across their brand and the customisation interface gives flexibility without the need for additional coding. The website is ready for Shopify's ecommerce functionality to be implemented, and Klaviyo is intergrated to allowing the easy creation of competition and giveaway forms and collection of first party data.

Distinctive product information

Each range of the Rubicon family has a dedicated section, created to display information about the product. Specific brand fonts and colours are used for the Still, Sparkling and Spring ranges and tables display nutritional information and ingredients

The eye-catching homepage is inspired by and uses the Rubicon branding to emphasise the fun and vibrancy of the brand. The same identity is replicated on internal pages, using creative layouts to keep them fresh and reinforce important brand messaging.
