Background
Before engaging NB in 2023, Rettie's website was powered by a SaaS platform for real-estate businesses. While it offered useful functionality, it lacked the flexibility and performance Rettie required. We proposed re-platforming the site to ProcessWire, providing greater flexibility, scalability and performance. This created the foundations not just for a better website, but for a platform that could continue to evolve with Rettie's business and customer needs.
Challenge
Rettie’s large, content-rich website relies on a complex integration with Reapit, the property management platform at the heart of the business. It needed to handle huge volumes of property data quickly and reliably, with a scalable hosting solution to support performance as demand grew.
Protecting Rettie’s strong organic search presence was also critical. Any migration had to safeguard rankings while creating a faster, more flexible foundation for future development.
Solution
We developed a bespoke Reapit integration that efficiently fetches and caches property data, alongside a robust hosting architecture using multiple database servers and load balancers. Working closely with Rettie’s SEO agency, we also managed the migration with search performance firmly in focus.
Since launch, we’ve continued to build on those foundations. A new user portal, My Rettie, gives landlords, tenants, sellers and buyers secure access to transactions, appointments, documents and more. We’ve also integrated Reapit with Dotdigital, enabling smarter email triggers, workflows and automation.
Our work doesn’t stop there. Ongoing analysis and optimisation help us improve performance and customer experience, while reducing manual processes and saving Rettie’s teams valuable time.
