The firm wanted to modernise the Lows brand and raise awareness of the extensive range of services. This involved overhauling the brand's corporate positioning, visual identity, website and digital marketing to help achieve the firm's bold ambitions while respecting the company's heritage.

Background

With more than 130 years of history serving clients in the islands, Lows Orkney's experience is undoubted. The firm sought to celebrate that deep local knowledge and understanding while refreshing its identity and showcasing itself as a modern and dynamic professional services organisation.

Challenge

Despite offering a broad range of legal and financial services, Lows Orkney was known primarily as an 'estate agency' and 'solicitors'. The firm wished to raise awareness of the range of in-house expertise and present itself as the leading professional services team in Orkney. Lows also required redevelopment of its website to create an enhanced customer experience and streamline the process of property listing management and marketing.

Solution

NB recognised the need to delve into the firm's brand, exploring the values, identity and characteristics that make Lows unique. Our involvement began with an in-depth workshop analysing the core aspects of the Lows brand. The resulting brand proposition helped inform the development of a new visual identity and logo for use across the website, digital marketing and stationery, providing consistency across varied assets. The new website by NB dramatically improves the digital presence including integration of the Reapit property management system and enhanced email marketing tools, resulting in better customer experiences and improved internal efficiency.

Brand strategy

NB led a deep dive into the Lows brand, helping to define a value proposition to underpin all communications, marketing and digital development activities. Our process helped the Lows team examine their corporate identity and pinpoint what is unique about the firm.

Brand identity

Informed by the brand positioning, NB's creative team devised a simple, modern design, updating Lows' identity while honouring the previous iteration. The fresh logos were applied to new stationery, including letterheads and business cards.

Website redevelopment

Launching a new website was pivotal in the project, dramatically enhancing the digital presence and improving the technology used to optimise performance and give users a seamless experience. Changes to the menu structure gave more prominence to legal services while retaining the usability of the property search function.

Property pages

Integration with the Reapit property management system helped improve customer experience and internal efficiency. Simplifying the navigation system delivers better UX, especially for those accessing the site on a mobile device.

Email marketing automation

NB's digital marketing team designed a brand-compliant email template, making it quick and simple to prepare eye-catching campaigns consistent with the new brand appearance. Integrating Mailchimp with the website automates weekly property updates for subscribers.

Results

Since launch in November 2024, Lows has received plenty of positive feedback from regular visitors to the website. The new branding has been applied throughout Lows' offices including a rennovated reception area which provides a more modern and welcoming experience for customers. With a modernised visual identity and high-performing website, Lows can continue to command their position in the local market, and progress future plans with confidence.
