Background
When Harper Macleod acquired Dowle, Smith & Rutherford, the isles’ estate agency that operated the portal, they needed to:
- Bring its look and feel into line with their own brand
- Maintain user familiarity on the popular site.
Challenge
- Bring its look and feel into line with their own brand
- Maintain user familiarity on the popular site.
Solution
Our project management team in Edinburgh worked closely with the client’s web team in Glasgow, developing the architecture of the new fully responsive site.
- Adding a map to explore properties by location
- Developing a grid overview that enabled properties to be scanned quickly
- Integrated with social media channels, now a key asset for all estate agency sites.
We also streamlined site management, reducing the time required to add new property listings:
- Single image upload, with cropping and size optimisation within the CMS
- A particular template coded into the CMS, making it easy to create branded, downloadable PDFs for every property.
- The CMS has also been future proofed to capture the latest digital trends such as 360° video.
