Client Description

Shetland Folk Festival is the most northerly folk festival in the UK, with a reputation for excellent music and late night sessions. Its concerts offer up some of the best international, British and Shetland folk music that the world has to offer, and the Festival, which is organised by a committee of volunteers, prides itself on reaching out to even the most far flung corners of Shetland.

Project

Due to the Festival’s popularity, one of the key areas for development within the website was the booking and membership system. Concerts often sell out extremely quickly, and online booking functionality has to be robust and reliable as a result.

Year-on-year, our development team has worked closely with the organising committee to understand what will provide the best booking experience for both customers and the Festival. The bespoke solution, designed and developed by NB, is now used to manage all events.

In addition, the site provides a media-rich experience enabling visitors to watch videos and listen to material from festival artists using an archive of Shetland Folk Festival programmes that dates back to 1981.

NB works continually to improve content and usability of the website, and to develop bespoke areas of content - and we are proud that. The Shetland Folk Festival has now used us as their dedicated digital marketing team for more than half a decade.
