How we got there?
In 2016, Orkney Distilling set out to create a new gin brand with big plans for the future. Kirkwall couple Stephen and Ali Kemp founded the company through a passion for crafting a unique gin recipe that uses local botanicals and would put Orkney on the map amongst the growing number of Scottish gin brands.
Stephen formed a team at the beginning of the process to ensure that brand development was carried out in sufficient detail before launching their first product. NB were chosen as the digital marketing partner that would bring their new product to life on the web.
Online sales were key to the initial success of the gin so Orkney Distilling needed the right platform to gain early engagement with potential customers. NB devised creative online marketing activities that would ensure maximum exposure and engagement from the very beginning, achieving over 1100 mailing list subscribers before the product even launched. We developed a Shopify e-commerce site which would provide the perfect platform to grow and nurture a loyal customer base.
We worked in conjunction with some of our Orkney partners to plan and launch the digital marketing activity that would bring Kirkjuvagr, their first gin, into the market. Working alongside Kerry Cooper Design, copywriter and PR expert Dave Flanagan, and video producers Start Point Media, we created a comprehensive launch schedule which included a staged launch for the website.
