We have opportunities for 1) a web developer and 2) a graduate project manager to join our busy team in Lerwick. Both will help our agency to provide an excellent level of service to a growing client base from throughout the UK and beyond.

1. Web Developer

You will be responsible for developing websites using open-source content management systems and related technologies. You will also be involved in web and mobile app development, including improving and enhancing existing systems. Please see our portfolio for examples of the types of project we undertake.

You should have excellent knowledge and skills in the following:

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • Javascript
  • CSS3
  • Git

It is highly desirable that you'll also have good skills in Linux hosting, CakePHP, automated testing tools and practices, React or Vue.js front-end javascript frameworks, Amazon Web Services, Jekyll, and various build tools and dependency managers such as SCSS, Grunt, npm, composer.

Further to this, it would be very advantageous if you have relevant knowledge of search engine optimisation, conversion rate optimisation, and social media marketing.

2. Project Manager

You will be responsible for managing a number of projects simultaneously, liaising with clients, colleagues and suppliers to ensure every project runs successfully. Excellent organisational and time management skills are therefore essential.

You will be involved in a varied range of innovative digital marketing projects for clients throughout Shetland, Orkney and the mainland UK. The work will including managing website design and development projects and also aspects of website optimisation, social media marketing and more.

Experience in a marketing environment would be advantageous, but not essential, as excellent training will be provided. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with a background in copywriting, social media, online marketing, website design and branding.

We are advertising this as a graduate role, ideally suited to someone who has just finished study towards a degree. We may, however, still consider applications from those who may already have relevant post-study work experience too and we welcome anyone with an interest to contact us to discuss further.
