This month we launched a new website for Orkney-based Sheila Fleet Jewellery.
NB was tasked with the development of the new site which would host new features, including improved navigation, more search filter options and more impressive imagery to showcase the jeweller's extensive range.
"We got over 2,000 responses to a survey asking our customers what they liked about our website, what they didn't like, and what they wanted to see more of. That invaluable information, combined with the improvements we already wanted to make, helped shape the many new features we've now added," says Kenny Ritch, Sheila Fleet's in-house digital development manager, who we collaborated with on this project.
In direct response to feedback in the survey, customers now have the opportunity to create wishlists. This allows them to save their favourite items for later purchase, or to share them with someone else should they need a gentle nudge for a future gift idea.
We've also added improved Shopify functionality giving customers more ways to pay for items, including Google Pay, Apple Pay and all major credit cards. Prices can also be viewed in seven different currencies which provides an improved experience for international customers.
"New and improved site navigation allows users to browse items more easily which is particularly important given Sheila Fleet's large catalogue," says NB's assistant manager, Alex Fenton. "New colour collections, and filtering options make it easier for people to find what they are looking for and creates a more intuitive and engaging customer experience."
The new Sheila Fleet website is a timely launch, given the importance for retail brands to provide online shopping experiences for customers amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"This year has shown us that having a robust, easy-to-navigate website with secure payment facilities is a must-have for retailers, particularly when so many people are now shopping online," says Alex. "We've helped a number of our existing clients to adapt and grow their online offering and they're seeing a positive return on their investment through increased engagement and sales."
