Championing mental health

November 16, 2019

Talking about mental health is no longer the taboo subject it once was. With one in four people in the UK experiencing mental health problems each year and poor mental health contributing to 12.7% of all sickness absence days in the UK, it’s important that everyone feels comfortable talking about their feelings and has access to the right support.

So we are proud to have recently partnered with the Shetland-based mental health charity, Mind Your Head (MYH), giving our time and expertise at a subsidised rate to assist them with the redesign and relaunch of their website.

The charity was set up in 2005 following the personal experiences of its founding members and the website provides a platform for people struggling with their mental health, and their loved ones, to reach out for help and support. The value of what they do can’t be underestimated and it has been a lifeline for many people going through a tough time.

We worked with the team at MYH to refresh the site – making it bold, bright, positive and accessible to everyone. We also looked at the content on the previous website and restructured it to make it clearer who the website is for and how support can be accessed.

Charities are, of course, reliant on fundraising to keep them afloat, so we made sure that there was a clear and easy way to donate money direct from the homepage, at the click of a button.

Commenting on the partnership with MYH, NB managing director David Nicol said: “Organisations like Mind Your Head have such a positive impact and create a safe space for people who might be struggling with their mental health to seek help. We are proud to have supported them with their website redesign and I’m confident it will continue to be an extremely useful resource for the people of Shetland.”
