Client Description: Shetland’s midsummer festival, the Johnsmas Foy, is a recently-revived festival that, centuries ago, used to mark the arrival of the Dutch herring fleet in the islands. The festival was revived in 2005 and has since grown to represent a significant event in the Shetland summer calendar. The Foy comprises a number of different events held across the islands during a 10 day period, all of which celebrate the very special time that is midsummer in Shetland.

Project Details: The website provides detailed information on the festival and the many events which take place during the 10-day programme, the site is aimed at both external and local audiences and presents the event in a fresh and exciting way. The objectives of the project are to: - create a new, vibrant official gateway to The Johnsmas Foy; - provide and guide site users to good quality, accessible and accurate information on the festival, its background and events, - to create useful links to other Shetland experiences.
