Facebook Scam Warning

July 20, 2016

We've recently been made aware of a Facebook scam where notifications from pages are attempting to gather information by asking users to confirm their details. Many of our client's Facebook pages have received the same request so we thought it would be a good idea to post some details so that you can avoid getting caught out.

The request appears to come from a page called 'Confirm Page', 'Settings Page' or something similar which has a Facbook icon as its profile picture. This page is sharing posts with a comment as shown above so they can get your attention. You may see a notification such as the one below.

The comment threatens disabling of your Facebook page if you fail to confirm your details.

The link takes you to a FAKE Facebook page where you are asked to input your details.

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK OR ENTER ANY DETAILS ON THE PAGE.

If you have any doubts at all then you are safer to ignore suspect requests.
