December 2, 2016

NB's e-commerce clients tend to be very busy in he run up to Christmas, and we've thoroughly enjoyed helping many of them to promote Black Friday offers and other seasonal campaigns.

We've seen some very impressive results again this year, particularly from the likes of Shetland Reel Gin. NB helped the innovative Unst-based distiller to launch and promote their new seasonal gin, 'Holy Days', to great effect. We drove awareness of the product through a combination of social media and email campaigns, and helped ensure excellent conversion rates by delivering a new version of their online shop powered by Shopify. The previous online shopping functionality had performed well, but Shopify offers a significantly improved experience all round for both customers and website administrators.

We thought it'd be useful to share some of the benefits of Shopify here. If you are interested in starting with e-commerce for the first time, or kicking your online sales on to the next level, please don' hesitate to get in touch.

Shopify - A Intuitive and Flexible E-Commerce System

High Quality Theme Designs:

The theme store offers beautiful, mobile-friendly themes, easily customizable to fit your brand. For clients looking for something a bit more tailored to their needs, we can also design a new Shopify theme from scratch, code it up, and implement it into your Shopify website.

Flexible Add-On Modules:

Shopify has its own app store, offering a wide range of add-ons which can be used to improve your site in a number of ways. Modules exist for everything from specialised shipping options to inventory tracking tools.

Integrated Blogging Platform:

It’s absolutely essential to be creating content which helps bring visitors to your store in the first place. Fortunately, Shopify is set up so that you can blog quickly and easily from your website, allowing you to immediately begin tapping into your customer community.

Abandoned Checkout Recovery:

Surveys have shown that around 65% of online shopping carts end up being abandoned. Shopify has a clever option which allows you to automatically email a customer with a link to their abandoned cart after a period of time, prompting them to reconsider purchasing their items.

Reports & Analytics:

Shopify Reports provide access to insights and analytics that tell you everything you need to know about how your store is performing. This information is extremely useful when it comes to reviewing and adjusting the way your products are listed online.

Discount Codes:

Earlier we mentioned that many online retailers want to tap into Black Friday opportunities. Often this is done by offering a discount code which is entered at checkout. Shopify offers a flexible discount code engine, and discounts can be generated for a specific value or percentage. It’s possible to specify dates that codes are valid, which items they can be used on, or the minimum spend required, so that discounts can be kept under control.

Shopify Mobile

We often stress the importance of having a mobile-responsive website, and an e-commerce site should be no different. With Shopify Mobile, not only will your storefront look great on phones and tablets, you can also view vital information about your shop from your iOS and Android devices. Keep track of your sales statistics, orders and customer data while on-the-go.
